We are pleased to introduce The Australian Advocate, a new national monthly publication dedicated to highlighting the issues that matter to members of Australian Advocacy Group (AAG) and communities across Australia.

Founded by the AAG, this initiative will provide an independent platform for Australians striving toward social justice, community resilience, and policy reform.

The Australian Advocate will be issued on the first Friday of each month, with the first issue expected to launch by 5 December 2025.
Initially available online only, the publication will be distributed to members and subscribers of AAG, with the funding required for publication achieved through AAG financial membership, ensuring editorial independence and long-term sustainability.

Vision and Purpose

The Australian Advocate is grounded in the belief that authentic journalism drives positive change.

Our mission is to highlight the stories that shape Australia’s social and political landscape — from grassroots community movements and regional advocacy to national policy, environment, and human-interest stories.

We aim to bring clarity, fairness, and integrity to issues that matter most to Australians, offering a balanced and inclusive national voice.

Publication Model

  • Frequency: Monthly (First Friday of each month)
  • First Issue: Expected 5 December 2025
  • Format: Digital publication (website and newsletter)
  • Access:
    • Free for AAG members, AAG subscribers and visitors to the AAG webpage.

Each issue will feature investigative journalismadvocacy reportsopinion pieces, and community-submitted content, developed under professional editorial standards and ethical guidelines.

Funding and Revenue Streams

To maintain both financial independence and operational sustainability, The Australian Advocate will be funded through the following channels:

  1. Advertising Partnerships
Selective and values-aligned advertising opportunities for ethical organisations and community-based enterprises.
    • Full Page Advertisment $1000.00
    • Half Page Advertisment with Half Page Editorial $750
    • Half Page Advertisment $600
    • Front Page Footer $250
    • Internal Page Footer $150
    • Cost per Column Centimeter (cc) $0.50/cc (Column Width 5cm) Example: Column width of 10cm. You want an ad that’s 2 columns wide (20cm) and 20cm high. The total area is 20cm x 20cm = 400cc. At $0.50 per cc, the advertisement cost would be 400cc x $0.50/cc = $200.
  2. Publishing Services
Councils, NGOs, and advocacy organisations may publish feature articles, announcements, or reports for a modest publishing fee of $50 to help support the cost of publication.
  3. AAG Membership and Programs
Supported by the Australian Advocacy Group, the publication will collaborate with community initiatives such as the Empower Organic Program and other AAG-led projects.

Opportunities for Collaboration

We welcome partnerships with journalists, advocates, community organisations, and socially responsible businesses.

Ways to collaborate include:
