With the Stop The Toxic Fire Ant Program petition being tabled on the 18 February 2025, it is time to organise the next one.
Please let me know your thoughts on this one.
Queensland Citizens draws to the attention of the House that your petitioners choice to live a poison, pesticide and chemical free lifestyle is not recognised as a basic human right in Queensland. In addition, the right to own, operate or manage a poison, pesticide and chemical free business, farming operation or entity is also not recognised as a basic right of Queenslanders.
Recent Biosecurity eradication program’s have created significant mental and overall health difficulties by failing to recognise or empower individual’s lifestyle choices of living and/or working in poison, pesticide or chemical free environments, in particular the Biosecurity Act 2014 undermines personal lifestyle choice to live a life without being exposed to poison, pesticides or chemicals including insect growth inhibitors.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to:
• mandate the offering of biosecurity operations, where eradication, suppression and management programs are initiated, to include non-chemical solutions to accommodate these lifestyle, activity and business choices, of individuals and other entities, to live and operate poison, pesticide and chemical free.
• amend The Queensland Human Rights Act 2019 to include the right to live poison, pesticide and chemical free lives.
