The NFAEP is ruthless in their agenda to treat 100% of properties, whether fire ants exist or not, within the eradication zone, several times a year, for numourous years. They accept no ‘reasonable excuse’, no medical exception, and will stop at nothing to achieve this goal.
People Power is the ONLY way to stop them.
One of the program’s Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) is the amount of objections to prophylactic treatment on private property. If we can demonstrate over 1% of residents being treated Object than this KPI will be triggered and the program will be suspended.

Notices are placed in your letter box by NFAEP field teams. These notices either inform you of prophylactic treatment which was carried out or if they require access to your private property to conduct prophylactic treatment.
The program will (generally) attempt prophylactic treatment three times and on this final attempt will issue a ‘Final Notice’. Sometimes however the final notice does happen on the second time and some people have reported three or more final notices.

Regardless of interpretation of law or your thoughts on communication requirements, i.e. ‘unaddressed, unsolicitored, junk mail etc. the failure to respond to these notices is interpretted by the NFAEP (right or wrongfully) as a tacit agreement and consent to prophylactic treatment of your private property.
A tacit agreement is an agreement that’s made without being explicitly stated or written down. It can be based on actions, non-verbal communication, or a history of behavior.
You need to communicate that you do not consent and object to the prophylactic chemical treatment on your private property.
The NFAEP are ruthless and deny. delay and discredit is their mantra. It is important that you use Stat Dec’s, signed by JP’s and posted, via registered mail, with photographic evidence. In additional, scaned copies emailed to the program and saved on a HDD for future reference.
Notice Objection Process – Do this for every Notice that the NFAEP delivery to your letter box.
- scan Notice to computer or hard disk drive and photocopy.
- organise Stat Dec (Notice Objection) signed and witness by JP.
- scan signed Stat Dec to computer or hard disk drive and photocopy.
- certify copies of both the notice and stat dec and post to NFAEP.
- email scanned copy of both the stat dec and notice to the program and objection@aagpilot.com, reinforcing the objection.
It could be beneficial to specify that you have a reasonable excuse to obstruct, as is your right, in the Biosecurity Act 2014 (QLD). I would not specify your reasonable excuse until your address has been escalated to the ‘GAP’ team.
It is important to note that avoiding the field teams or having them accept you have a ‘reasonable excuse’ does not mean you will not be escalated to the GAP team. The NFAEP does not accept any ‘reasonable excuse’ and you will need to obstruct the officer, as is your right in the Biosecurity Act 2014 (QLD) not just with your words but also your conduct.
